Hello,
We are developing a simulation based training on Physical Assessment of newborn. Therefore, we are doing a research on how effective this simulation can be and how it can help Pediatrics, Nurses, Parents etc. Here are some of key features of simulation:
1. Interact and take general measurement such head, neck and height of the newborn.
2. Perform a focused physical examination of chest and respiratory system, hear the real life like breath sounds and identify the abnormalities
3. Perform the heart examination and evaluate newborns cardiovascular system.
4. Make observation of skin and classify abnormalities.
5. Perform a physical assessment of ear, mouth and nose and compare a normal finding versus the abnormal finding.
6. Palpate and auscultate the abdomen to identify any abnormalities.
7. Outline steps involved in physical examination of newborn.
8. Musculoskeletal system: stretch the infant’s hands and legs to see if muscles and bones function normally.
9. Genital assessment: look for any abnormalities in the genital areas and also make sure baby’s stool are of the right color and urinates regularly.
10. Last important step: discharging baby if everything seems perfect and having parents make an appointment for a visit to the clinic.
With this in mind, Here are few questions that I have
1. Do you educate or explain parents/mother the process of physical examination and the reason behind it?
2. How much time does it take to explain the entire process?
3. Is there any value of providing a simulation based program that explains the process of physical examination and answers most frequent questions that parent(s)/mother may have?
4. In terms of percentage, how many parent/mother needs to explained this process? How much approximate time is spent on daily basis?
5. In your opinion, what would be the ideal price for this kind of training, considering it is well made and comprehensive?
6. Do you think that parents will buy this training program to self-learn and understand the process of physical examination of newborn and its importance?
7. What do you do now to get training on this and do you think simulation based training will better option than that?
7. If this program is made available on smartphone or iPad is there a value?
I would really appreciate if someone can respond to my question as it will help me in providing a better product to educate.
Regards,
Amit

If you find it a bit maddening to follow the
daily fluctuations of the scale even though you are eating properly, pick three days of the week on which you will always weigh yourself (for example,
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). In fact, I always suggest to those overweight vegetarians to
keep to a max of 4 pounds a week so you won’t suffer loose skin post weight loss. Do not be tempted to lose weight as quickly as you can, because a crash diet will have you eating less than a thousand calories a day slowing down your metabolism.
